Amanda E. Phillips was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She studied Creative Writing at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the previous editor and owner of the literary publication, Donut Factory, and the current co-editor of City. River. Tree.
She is particularly interested in uncanny fiction, with an affinity for domestic horror and magical realism. In terms of theme, she enjoys exploring characters who live in the gray space between the questionable and the irredeemable. Death and reincarnation/reanimation often play a central role in her work.
